Load Shedding and Restoration for Intentional Island with Renewable Distributed Generation

Due to the high penetration of renewable distributed generation (RDG), many issues have become conspicuous during intentional island operation such as power mismatch load shedding transition process and imbalance restoration process. In this paper, a phase measurement unit (PMU) based online strategy conservation voltage reduction (CVR) multi-period are proposed for with RDG. The strategy, which is driven by blackout event, consists optimization correction table. Before occurrence large-scale blackout, solved periodically obtain optimal plan, meets dynamic steady constraints. When occurs, table updated in real time on PMU data used modify plan eliminate caused fluctuation After system transits seamlessly, plans generated optimize performance while maintaining balance until main grid repaired. Besides, CVR technology implemented restore more loads regulating demand. linearized mixed-integer quadratic constraint programming (MIQCP) models. effectiveness strategies verified modified IEEE 33-node real-time digital simulation (RTDS) platform.
